The Yough boys basketball squad had a banner season in 2022-23 after collecting 17 wins, claiming a section title, winning a WPIAL playoff game and advancing to the PIAA postseason.
Sixth-year coach Jim Nesser wants his team to continue their upward trend and to continue to be greedy when it comes to success on the basketball court.
“We had a really good season a year ago,” Nesser said. “It was a fun ride and the kids really came together late in the season. But when we came together over the summer, I think the boys still wanted more. They are not satisfied on what they did last season. They are hungry for more.”
The Cougars went 17-10 overall and tied with Washington for the Section 4-3A title with a record of 10-2. The section championship was the third in program history and their first since 2005.
