The Mon Valley Academy for the Arts is getting into the holiday spirit of giving.
As the holiday season approaches, a special event hosted by the MVAA is aimed to ignite the community with creativity, generosity.
The “Candy Cane Lane Challenge” is a new, festive holiday house fundraiser that will begin Friday and continues through Dec. 15 at the Peter J. Daley Cultural Center in Brownsville.
The “Candy Cane Lane Challenge” is a creative and charitable undertaking designed to unite the community during the holiday season. Participants are invited to channel their artistic talents and craft unique holiday houses, which can take the form of traditional gingerbread houses, Santa’s cozy abode, local landmarks, or any imaginative theme they choose.
The material used for these holiday houses is entirely open to participants’ creativity and it doesn’t have to be edible.
The only rules are that no kits are permitted to ensure each creation is a testament to individual artistic expression.
Houses that require electricity to operate are also prohibited.
MVAA President Annette Buffer is enthusiastic about the “Candy Cane Lane Challenge.”
