No changes were made to Fallowfield Township’s operating budget before it was unanimously passed Wednesday.
The $2.3 million spending plan for 2024 will hold the line on taxes, keeping millage at 1.49408.
As it was when it was first advertised, the budget on paper appears to have a slight deficit because of two projects that will be paid for using previously allocated funds.
The Fox Stop Bridge and Wesley Avenue Storm Water projects are each estimated to cost about $100,000, but could come in lower once bids are received.
The township’s largest expenses are salaries, including $220,000 for the road department, $52,000 for part-time summer help, $55,000 for code enforcement, $100,000 for engineering services and $40,000 for legal services.
A program for a paid firefighter/first responder available during the day from Mondays through Fridays will also continue in 2024, with $125,000 earmarked for it to continue for a second year.
The township has also budgeted $20,000 for EMS service in 2024, a new expense that supervisors plan to work to offset costs for moving forward.
