Anthony A. Debowski, 96, of Carroll Township, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2023, at his home with his loving family by his side. He was born Dec. 24, 1926, in Monongahela, son of the late Kazimir Debowski and the late Mary Chmaj Debowski. He was a member of the St. Andrew the Apostle Parish and the Polish Falcons Nest No. 247 Donora. Anthony retired from Ringgold School District after 30 years of service. He was a veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Navy. He loved going to the Meadows and especially enjoyed the horse and dog races. An avid gardener, he loved growing his vegetables and planting flowers around the house in the spring. Anthony was the last surviving member of his immediate family. In addition to his parents Anthony was preceded in death by his wife, Rosalie Amatangelo Debowski; two sisters, Violet Zielinski and Helen Pipik; and three brothers, Joseph, Walter and Edward Debowski. Surviving to cherish his memory are his three children, Marisa (Stan) Turkovich of Donora, Thomas Debowski of Carroll Township, and Robert (Dee Dee) Debowski of Carroll Township; two grandchildren, Brianne (Justin) Metz of Arizona and Erynn Joi Turkovich of Florida, two great-grandsons, Bryson and Easton Metz; three step-grandchildren, Nicole Myers, Justin (Tess) Myers, Derek (Nikki) Myers, two step great-granddaughter, Sophia and Sage Myers; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Arrangements have been entrusted to ANTHONY L. MASSAFRA FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICE INC., 40 Second St. Ext., Donora, PA 15033, 724-379-6900 where friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 22, 2023. Prayers will be recited in the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, 2023, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in St. Andrew the Apostle Parish Donora Campus.
