Monessen delays animal control officer decision

Monessen council decided Thursday to negotiate further before hiring an animal control officer for the city, as council was upset by the two companies’ policy on euthanasia. Councilman Tony Orzechowski said both companies under consideration will house dogs found for 48 hours before euthanizing them.
