Betty Jane Minardi – Monessen

Betty Jane Minardi, 87, of Monessen, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2024, in Mon Valley Care Center. She was born on May 20, 1936, in Woodcock Township, Pa., daughter of the late Glenn and Margaret Sensor Thayer. She was a member of Monessen United Methodist Church. She was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel and had worked as a secretary for the plant manager of Sharon Steel and Koppers Industries. She is survived by two sons, Chris (Joyce) Minardi of Monessen and Edward (Beth) Minardi of Monessen; two granddaughters, Shelby Minardi and Breane (Mikey) Blainefield; great-grandson, Maverick Blainefield; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Deneen Minardi; two grandsons, Blaine Sullenburger and Aaron Minardi; granddaughter, Aubrey Sullenberger; two brothers, Charles Thayer and George Thayer, who was a prisoner of war in Korea; and sister-in-law, Jackie Seroka. Friends will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25, 2024, at DALFONSO-BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC. AND CREMATION SERVICES, 441 Reed Ave., Monessen. Services will be held Friday, Jan. 26, beginning with a funeral service at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Sandy Fitzgibbons officiating. Interment will follow in Mon Valley Memorial Park, Donora. Condolences are being accepted for the family at www.dalfonso-billick.com.
