Rostraver Township commissioners approved promoting police officer Christopher Tretter to sergeant, following several years of police work in the township and Westmoreland County.
Tretter became a full-time police officer for the Rostraver Township Police Department in 2015 and previously worked as Westmoreland County deputy sheriff. The commissioners unanimously approved Tretter’s promotion Wednesday night preceding a round of applause from the crowd and congratulations from Commissioner President Jeffrey Johnson.
“Needless to say, the board of commissioners has a lot of faith in you,” Johnson said, “and we’re looking forward to a continued successful career on top of what you already had… we have the best police department in the area, and that’s because of you.
