Public input sought on next phase of Expressway project

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission and elected officials broke ground recently on construction for the Mon/Fayette Expressway PA Route 51 to I-376 project’s southern section. Decades ago, Pennsylvania state legislators entrusted the PTC with building the Mon/Fayette Expressway (PA Turnpike 43), and in 1988 the first section of the Mon/Fayette Expressway got underway.

Progress is being made in a years-long Mon/Fayette Expressway project. The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission will host an open house from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Holiday Inn Express and Suites in West Mifflin for a public discussion of construction plans for Section 53A2 of its Mon/Fayette Expressway PA Route 51 to I-376 project.
