Man jumps to safety in California fire

A man was flown to a Pittsburgh trauma center Friday after jumping from his fourth-floor apartment at California Manor just before firefighters could rescue him. California Fire Chief Tom Hartley said a call was received around 6:20 p.m. for a reported fire with entrapment at the Second Street apartment complex, which is owned and operated by the Washington County Housing Authority.
