Audit shows McKeesport Area School District in strong financial position

McKeesport Area’s independent auditor presented its report for the 2022-23 fiscal year to the school board Thursday night, demonstrating the district’s financial stability despite mistakes in the budget. Peter Vancheri, a partner of accounting firm Hosack, Specht, Muetzel & Wood, LLP, revealed the district’s revenues exceeded its expenditures by $9.4 million. The original budget for the 2022-23 fiscal year projected revenues to exceed the budget by $307,000.
