Robert J. Curcio – New Eagle
Robert J. Curcio, 91, of New Eagle, died Monday, April 15, 2024, in his home. He was born March 31, 1933, in Monongahela, the son of Savario “Sam” and Rose Greco Curcio. Bob was Christian by faith. After graduating from Monongahela High School in 1953, Bob joined the United States Marine Corps, where he earned the rank of sergeant during the Korean War. After the service, he was employed at Combustion Engineering in East Monongahela until its closing, and later at U.S. Steel’s Clairton Works. He retired from Riverview Golf Course in Bunola. He was a member of American Legion Post 949 in Carroll Township and VFW No. 1409 in Black Diamond. Bob loved to dance, golf with his buddies, and spend time with his family. He was a “wiz” on the computer and enjoyed keeping in touch with friends and family on Facebook. He also had a love for animals. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda Williams Curcio; son, Bobby (Marilyn) Curcio of Charleroi; daughter, Kim Curcio of Monongahela; five grandchildren, Cristina, Robbie and Billy Curcio, Shelly (Ryan) Rocca and Brittany (Josh) Critchfield; 10 great-grandchildren, Noah, Liam, Eli and Nokomi Curcio, Ethan, Tori and Eric Rocca and Haylee, Aubree and Noelle Critchfield; niece, Jeanie (Tony) Piscitelli; great-nieces, Jacqueline (John Foster) Inserra and Sophia Foster; and three sisters-in-law, Rita Lenzi of New Eagle, Claire Shearer of West Newton and Lois Williams of Fayette City. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Donnie Curcio; sister, Bella Turic; and brother-in-law, Gene Turic. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 W. Main St., Monongahela, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 18, 2024, with Pastor Ricky Bennett officiating. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery with military honors accorded by the Mon Valley Honor Guard and Firing Squad. Memorial contributions may be made to Washington Area Humane Society, P.O.
