Warriors up section winning streak to 35

Chalk up another undefeated section season for the Elizabeth Forward softball squad.
The Warriors (15-1, 12-0) smashed 16 hits in four innings at the plate in a 13-0 rout of visiting Uniontown Thursday.
With the win, the Warriors upped their section winnings streak to 35 games. The last team to beat them in a section game was Yough in 2022.

Chalk up another undefeated section season for the Elizabeth Forward softball squad.
The Warriors (15-1, 12-0) smashed 16 hits in four innings at the plate in a 13-0 rout of visiting Uniontown Thursday.
With the win, the Warriors upped their section winnings streak to 35 games. The last team to beat them in a section game was Yough in 2022.
Berlyn Holibaugh had three hits for Elizabeth Forward and Julia Resnik added a home run and a triple. Teammate Addy Nigut added a double and single.
The Warriors jumped on the Red Raiders (8-5, 8-4) with an eight-run first inning.
Resnik led the game off with her triple and scored on a sacrifice fly by Shelby Telegdy. After a walk and Nigut’s double, Berlyn Holibaugh smacked a two-run double to make it 3-0.
Julia Johnson hit a sacrifice fly and Aubry Cimba reached on an error to score Madison Patton.
Hannah Evans hit an RBI single and Resnik followed with a two-run shot to make it 8-0.
Elizabeth Forward added three more runs in the second and a pair in the third.
Telegdy got the win, splitting time with Johnson. Telegdy threw the opening two innings and Johnson finished up. Each of them allowed a lone hit and struck out four.
The Warriors will turn their attention to playoff preparation, which starts today when they host Ligonier Valley at 4:15 p.m.
