Thelma Mae Bakori, 100, of New Eagle, died Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at her son’s home. She was born May 18, 1923, in Webster, the daughter of Robert and Helen Josephine Kettner Stinogle. She was employed at JCPenney in Southland for 7 ½ years. Thelma also worked for a sewing factory in Bethel Park and sewed uniforms for the soldiers post World War II. Thelma was a former member of the Finleyville Golden Agers. She enjoyed reading and ceramics. She is survived by her son, Andrew C. (Brenda) Bakori Jr. of Finleyville; son-in-law, Gery Sutherland of Monongahela; seven grandchildren, Gery Sutherland, Hilary Brown, Heather Popich, Jordon Holmes, Aundriea Bakori, Andrew Bakori III and Adam Bakori; and 13 great-grandchildren, Carrera Sutherland. Kaylee Holmes, Blake Eisel, Vincent Sutherland, Sydney Brown, James Holmes, Maximus Holmes, Cash Eisel, Brayden Davis, Brynn Davis, Brooklyn Holmes, Adriana Popich and Andrew Popich. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Charles Bakori; two daughters, Cheryl Holmes and husband John, and Janice Sutherland; three brothers, Robert, Blaine and Roy Stinogle; and a sister, Irene Long. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 23, 2024, at FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 W. Main St., Monongahela, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 24, 2024, with the Rev. Mark Woomer officiating. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery.
