John Harvey – Donora
John Harvey, 82, Donora, died Monday, June 17, 2024, at Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital in Carroll Township. He was born Nov. 20, 1941, in Donora, son of the late James Harvey and the late Marg aret Loftus Harvey. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by three brothers, James Harvey, William Harvey and Robert Harvey. Known by many in the community as “Howdy,” John loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and was an avid pool shooter. He was a member of Charleroi Sportsman’s Club and the Rusin Club in Donora. Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, Kathy (Maglet) Harvey; a son, Robert Harvey; a sister, Ann Vayansky of Mansfield, Pa.; along with several nieces and nephews. Arrangements have been entrusted to ANTHONY L. MASSAFRA FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICE INC., 40 Second St. Ext., Donora, PA 15033, 724379-6900, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2024, and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 20, 2024. Prayers will be recited in the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Friday, June 21, 2024, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian burial at the Donora site of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish.
