GoFundMe campaigns set up for Belle Vernon fire victims
The Keith family lost its home and all its possessions in a Sunday morning blaze.
Two GoFundMe campaigns have been launched for a Belle Vernon family of five who lost their home in a fire Sunday.
The family was informed their house was on fire during a service at Belle Vernon Church of the Nazarene.
The church set up one of the fundraising efforts for the family. To donate, go to GoFundMe.com and search for “Helping the Keith Family start over.”
“Today during Sunday school, life changed for a family at our church,” the page for the church’s GoFund-Me campaign reads. “They got a call that their house was on fire and it was a total loss. The couple and their three kids have lost everything and unfortunately they do not have insurance.
“On behalf of their church family, Belle Vernon Church of The Nazarene, we are asking for donations to help get rent for new housing and whatever else this family needs. They are the kind of people that won’t ask for help themselves, but they deserve it more than anyone we know. They give all their free time and attention to volunteering with our church for the outreach we do for the community. Anything helps.”
Another GoFundMe for the family was launched by Jessica Alyssa Roberts. To donate, go to https:// www.gofundme.com/f/help-family- after-loosing-everything-in-afire, or go to GoFundMe.com and search “Help family after loosing everything in a fire.”
“Hi, I am raising money for my family. My brother, sister in law, 2 nephews, 1 niece lost everything including their house in a fire on Sunday 6/23/24,” Roberts’ GoFundMe page reads. “My nephews are 15 and 16 and my niece is 12. Then we have my brother and sister in law. They both work daily for their kids. Unfortunately they did not have any insurance on their home. The family now has no belongings, nor a house to stay in. They attend church and are very giving people who love all the volunteer work they do and all the interaction with the church. We are raising money to help them get through this horrible time and get started back on their feet. Any kind of donation is appreciated and will help them out in anyway.”
Belle Vernon Volunteer Fire Company was assisted at the scene of the fire by North Belle Vernon, Rostraver Central, Rostraver, Lock 4, Fayette City, Washington Township, Perry Township fire departments and Rostraver West Newton EMS. Crews cleared the scene in approximately two hours.
