Summerfest returns to St. Andrew in Monongahela
The two-day event begins 5 p.m. Friday at Parish Park in Monongahela with a performance by Six Gun Sally.
Summerfest will return to St. Andrew the Apostle parish this weekend, bringing back lots of food, entertainment and fun for the whole family.
Summerfest will kick off 5 p.m. Friday at Parish Park, 110 Graham St., Monongahela (behind Dierken’s Pharmacy), with a performance by the popular band Six Gun Sally. The festival will be open until 10 p.m.
On Saturday, the fun begins at 11 a.m. with kids’ games and activities, adult games, and food offered at the SummerFest kitchen and outdoor food booths. There will also be a bake sale and a Ripepi Winery booth.
An outdoor Mass will be held at 4 p.m. lead by the Rev. Levi Hartle. Summerfest festivities will continue after Mass from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., with the band Push set to perform from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Festival bingo will be held at 6 p.m. both days featuring cash prizes.
The parish’s deep roots connect to the community throughout the Mid-Mon Valley. With two days of fun, food and praise, St. Andrew continues to bring the community together now as it has for over 40 years.
“It’s a beautiful tradition,” said Joe Caruso, parish business manager.
The festival is the result of efforts by parish volunteers and local sponsors. Caruso said fundraisers like this are vital to the parish’s outreach programs.
“We have a food bank that we run, and activities like this help fund that,” Caruso said.
