St. Sebastian holding 3-day Junque sale

Bishop Phelan Assembly 911 Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus of the Mon Valley will hold its monthly meeting for July on Thursday at the Charleroi Knights of Columbus Council Hall in St. Andrew the Apostle Parish School, located on the corner of Washington Avenue and Sixth Street in Charleroi. Recitation of the rosary will begin at 7:10 p.m. followed by the business meeting at 7:30 p.m. This is the first meeting of the new 2024-25 fraternal year that began on July 1. All recently elected assembly officers will assume their respective offices at this meeting. All assembly officers and members are strongly encouraged to attend this important meeting.

St. Sebastian’s annual Junque sale will be Thursday through Saturday at 801 Broad Ave., North Belle Vernon.

The schedule will run as follow: Thursday presale from 6 to 8 pm., $5 entrance fee; Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., with half-price sale from noon to 3 p.m. and a $2-a-bag sale from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Crime Solvers to meet Thursday

The Crime Solvers Club will meet 6 p.m. Thursday at the Monongahela Area Library, 813 W. Main St. Participants 18 and older are invited for an evening of sleuthing fun.

Church of Saint Anne to celebrate Triduum

The Church of Saint Anne, 1870 Rostraver Road, Rostraver Township, will celebrate a Triduum in honor of Saint Anne, Patroness of the Parish. This three-day celebration will be held on Thursday and Friday with a 6 p.m. Mass and Saturday, with a Mass at 4:30 p.m. The Novena to Saint Anne will be part of the Mass. All are welcome.

July movie night to be held in California

The California Borough Recreation Authority will sponsor a July movie night 8:30 p.m. Friday at the Hollywood pavilion, 313 Third St. “Migration” will be presented. Bring a chair or blanket; free popcorn will be available.

Flea market to precede festival at Saints Joachim and Anne

Saints Joachim and Anne Catholic Parish will conduct a flea market presale from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Eugene Church Hall, 3210 Liberty Way, Liberty Borough. Admission for each presale day is $5. Children 10 and younger are admitted at no charge.

‘Christmas in July’ to be held at Smithton legion

The Lt. Wayne S. Forsythe American Legion Post in Smithton is hosting a “Christmas in July” fundraiser from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Kruper Park, 137 First St., Smithton. The event will feature various fundraisers, including 50/50 draws, raffles and guest bartenders. All proceeds from the event will support the Rostraver Township Police Department’s annual “Santa Cop” program. A ‘Christmas in July’ vendor/craft show will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church, 501 Fayette Ave., Rostraver Township.

Elizabeth Firemen’s Riverfest this weekend

The Elizabeth Borough Volunteer Fire Co., Allegheny Co. Station 137, 107 Market St., Elizabeth, will hold its annual Elizabeth Firemen’s Riverfest this weekend at Elizabeth Riverfront Park.

The festivities begin 6 p.m. Friday with a DJ, followed by the Totally 80s Band at 8 p.m. and fireworks at 10 p.m.

The fun continues Saturday with a K-9 and drone demonstration by Elizabeth Township police, kids battle barrel at 11 a.m. The annual parade begins at 5 p.m., with lineup at 4 p.m. Awards will be presented for best appearing and equipped, heavy engine, medium engine, light engine, brush, ladder truck, squad, rescue, longest distance, choice award and judges’ choice.

A DJ will begin at 6 p.m., followed by Buckwild at 8 p.m.

Fun to be a Kid Day set for Sunday in Port Vue

The Borough of Port Vue, local businesses, residents and the council/mayor will sponsor the 28th annual Fun to be a Kid Day from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Romine Field, Port Vue Borough. The event is a day set aside for the children of the community to come together in a non-competitive atmosphere. All kids will receive a Kids Day T-shirt and lunch is provided. Included will be train rides, face painting, duck pond, spin art, bounce house, obstacle course, bicycle raffle, petting zoo, disc jockey, meet police and firefighters and more.

Six Gun Sally, Artimus Pyle to be featured at next Aquatorium concert

The next Rockin’ on the Mon concert will feature Six Gun Sally with Bo Bice & Artimus Pyle Saturday at the Noble J. Dick Aquatorium, 200 Railroad St., Monongahela. Gates open at 6 p.m. Admission is $10 at the gate.

Car show to be held on Victory Hill

A car show will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Victory Hill Social Club, 25 Jones Lane, Monongahela.

Registration is at 10 a.m. and is $5. Free dash plaques will be given to the first 50 entrants. Trophies will be awarded for club choice and ladies auxiliary club choice plus, first, second and third place.

Food will be sold, beer, half-the-take, and there will be raffle baskets.

A rain date of Aug. 4 has been set.
