Annual summer festival at Epiphany Church kicks off Friday with Olympics theme
The Epiphany Church festival, with an Olympics theme, will take place Friday and Saturday at 44 Pennsylvania Blvd., Monessen.
In addition to homemade ethnic and picnic food, basket auction, games and more, the schedule will run as follows:
• Friday — Festival from 5 to 10 p.m. including Street Level Band from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. and fireworks at 9:30 p.m.
• Saturday — Festival from 3 to 10 p.m. including Kosmix Polka Band from 3 to 5 p.m., balloon artist from 4 to 6 p.m., American Pie oldies band from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. and Mass outdoors at 10 p.m.

M&R Chocolates sale to be held at Penn Highlands
M&R Chocolates will be sold at the Penn Highlands Mon Valley lobby, 1163 Country Club Road, Carroll Township, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. Cash, credit cards and checks will be accepted forms of payment. The sale is a fundraiser for Penn Highlands Mon Valley Auxiliary.
The California farmers market will be open from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Hollywood pavilion, 313 Third St., California. The market is held the first Friday of each month offering farm fresh produce, baked goods and more and includes live music.
Saints Joachim & Anne holding festival at St. Eugene Church
Saints Joachim & Anne Parish will hold its 2024 community festival Thursday, Friday and Saturday at St. Eugene Church grounds, 3210 Liberty Way, Liberty Borough.
The festival will feature food, games, rides, a basket sale, children’s area, flea market, specialty baskets, craft baskets, festival foods and more. The schedule is as follows:
• Thursday and Friday — Festival food booths open at 5 p.m., games, rides, bingo and flea market from 6 to 11 p.m. There will be a $2,000 raffle each day.
• Saturday — Mass at 4 p.m., food booths open at 5 p.m., games, rides, bingo and flea market from 5 to 11 p.m. There will be a $5,000 raffle.
Entertainment will be provided nightly by DJ Tim. Mikey Dee Polka and Variety Band will provide the music Friday night and the Tim Litvin and the Nature Boy Band will entertain on Saturday.

Belle Vernon VFC to hold August fish frys

The Highwaymen to perform at aquatorium
The next Rockin’ on the Mon concert will be held Saturday at the Noble J. Dick Aquatorium, 200 Railroad St., Monongahela. The Highwaymen will be featured. Tickets, at $10, will be sold at the gate. The concerts are presented by Aquatorium Innovations.
Buena Vista VFC to hold Community Day
The Buena Vista Volunteer Fire Co. will hold a Community Day event on Saturday.
The pool will open at noon. Food and game booths will open at 2 p.m. Backwoods BBQ will be at the smoker. There will be a basket auction, 50/50, games and prizes, free corn, hot dogs, pool, rides for kids and a DJ. Fireworks will be held at 9:30 p.m.
White Oak Borough to hold annual Community Day
White Oak Borough’s Community Day will be held Saturday at Heritage Hill Park.
The pool will open at 11 a.m., vendors begin at 2 p.m. The Peace Sign Band begins at 6 p.m. Steel City Mobile mini golf can be played from 4 to 8 p.m. The G Boyz will serve as emcee for the day. A barnyard petting zoo will be open from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. The Wild Word of Animals will perform at 5 p.m. at the pavilion. The evening will conclude with fireworks at dark.
There will be no charge for pool pass holders and residents (with proof of residency). Non-residents will be charged the daily rate of $15.
The event is sponsored by White Oak Borough and the White Oak Recreation Board.
‘Putting the Brakes on Cancer’ car to be held in Washington Township
The Chester Cancer Foundation will present the fourth annual “Putting the Brakes on Cancer” car, truck and bike show from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Washington Township Volunteer Fire Company Social Hall, 1314 Axton St., Belle Vernon. Vehicle registration is $10. Dash plaques will be given to first 100 cars. Trophies will be awarded, 50/50 raffle, basket auction and DJ. Food and beverages will be sold.
Rain date for the show is Aug. 4.

Clothing sale to be held at Olive Branch Baptist Church
The Olive Branch Baptist Church, 296 Route 981, Rostraver Township, will hold a used clothing sale from 9:30 to 11 am. Saturday.
Donations of good, clean, used clothing can be dropped off at the back of the church in black plastic bags.
