August ‘Augie’ George Stache – Reading, formerly of Charleroi
READING, FORMERLY OF CHARLEROI August “Augie” George Stache, 94, of Reading, formerly of Charleroi, passed away on Friday, July 26, at Reading Hosp ital. Born June 3, 1930, Augie was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Spisak Stache. A resident of Charleroi most of his life, he was a 1948 graduate of Charleroi High School. Augie grew up performing with the choir at the Lutheran Church of Charleroi, where his mother served as choir director. He was a member of Garwood Baptist Church and was well known in the Valley for his beautiful singing voice. He performed at many local churches and nursing homes. Augie was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Monessen plant, where he worked as an electrician in the instrument shop. Earlier in his life, Augie enjoyed watching his four sons and grandchildren play sports and participate in musical activities. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Davis Stache, in 2013; an infant son, Timothy, in 1956; brother, Joseph Stache; and sister, Dorothy Ervin.
