McKeesport library to host teddy bear picnic

“The Teddy Bear’s Picnic” will be held noon Wednesday at the Carnegie Free Library of McKeesport, 1507 Library Ave., McKeesport. Children are welcome to bring a packed lunch and one or a few of their favorite stuffed animals for an afternoon picnic, stories, games and more. Charleroi K of C to meet Thursday
Charleroi Knights of Columbus Father William D. Fries Council 956 officers and members will hold the August council business meeting on Thursday at the Charleroi Knights of Columbus Council Hall, located in St. Andrew the Apostle Parish School on the corner of Washington Avenue and Sixth Street in Charleroi. Recitation of the rosary will begin at 7:10 p.m., followed by the meeting at 7:30 p.m. Plans for upcoming events will be discussed. All officers and members of both councils are strongly encouraged to attend.
D&D Adventurers to meet at Monongahela library
The D&D Adventurer’s Guild will meet 5:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Monongahela Area Library, 813 W. Main St., Monongahela. Those attending can join in a beginner friendly tabletop RPG group set to a 5E gaming system.
Carnegie library to host kid’s craft event

Blaine Hill Community Day set for Saturday
Blaine Hill Community Day will be held Saturday at 409 Oxford Ave., Elizabeth.
Booths will open at 3 p.m., parade at 6 p.m., fireworks at 10 p.m. There will be rides, bounce houses, games, food trucks, and adult beverages. A DJ will provide the music from 3 to 7 p.m., and Random Play will perform from 7 to 11 p.m.

Next Rockin’ on the Mon concert to feature Beatles tribute band
The next in the series of Rockin’ on the Mon concerts will feature Come Together — a musical Beatles tribute at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Noble J. Dick Aquatorium 200 Railroad St., Monongahela. Tickets can be purchased at the gate. Cost is $10.
The event is sponsored by Aquatorium Innovations.
McKeesport food pantry open on Saturday
A food pantry will be open from noon to 1:30 Saturday at St. Paul AME Church, 1350 Locust St., McKeesport. Free produce, dry foods and meats will be offered. Phone calls to reserve food boxes are no longer being accepted.
The food pantry is held the second and fourth Saturdays of each month.
Spaghetti dinner to benefit 9-month-old Miles Lee
A spaghetti dinner fundraiser will be held 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Stockdale Volunteer Fire Department, 316 Railroad St., Stockdale. The dinner is $12 for adults, $10 for children. There are no income requirements.
There will be a basket raffle, half-the-take, and strip tickets will be sold.

The proceeds will benefit the family of Miles Lee, 9-months, who is battling acute myeloid leukemia, which is rare in infants and must be treated aggressively.
Choir Day to be held at Antioch Baptist Church
An Antioch Choir Day celebration with the theme “Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord,” will be held 3 p.m. Sunday at Antioch Baptist Church, 945 Henry St., Belle Vernon.
Featured special guest will be Three Celestials. Choirs from Bethlehem Baptist Church of McKeesport, Garment of Praise in Jeannette, Highlands Baptist Church in Connellsville, Men of Friendship of Washington, Mt. Ararat Baptist Church of Cardale and Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church in Brownsville are scheduled to participate.
