The Charleroi Area Goldenagers met at noon Aug. 8 at the Charleroi American Legion Hall with 62 members in attendance.

President Sam Marraccini opened the meeting with the flag pledge and the singing of “God Bless America.” After the invocation, lunch was served.
Marraccini spoke briefly about the final three trips for the year. There will be two more day trips to Amish country in September and November and a two-day trip to see “Daniel” in Lancaster in October.
Kathy Savarino welcomed four new members: Thomas Blizzard, Daniel DiPiazza, Linda Burney and Henry Burney.
Since the summer picnic was held in June, the July and August member birthdays were celebrated at the August meeting. July birthdays were: Bonnie Baxter, Nora Bennett, Jo Ann Celaschi, Grace Dickerson, Bertha Dixon, Ruth Marraccini and Judy Sapko. The August birthdays were: Barbara Edwards, John Hisiro, Mary Martin, Patty Uhall and Dian Unsworth. The membership sang “Happy Birthday” to all as Marraccini displayed the cake, which was donated by cfsbank.
Door prizes were awarded by Kathy Savarino, and Dave Metz announced half-thetake.
The next meeting will take place at noon Sept. 5 at the Charleroi American Legion. New members are welcome.
