McKeesport won’t lose three straight, right? Nah …
Last week’s top game was delayed and never resumed. Here’s hoping we don’t have to deal with that again in Week 2.

Reading social media in the past week, some folks in McKeesport are a littl testy after the Tigers dropped to 0-2 to start this season.
They travel to Thomas Jefferson, one of the most physical battles they’ll face this year.
TJ was impressive defensively against Central Valley last week. While this isn’t your mama’s usualy TJ squad, there are pleny of stars though on that defense.
If TJ can slow down the Tigers’ rushing attack and put a clamp on all those Tigers’ weapons, TJ could eek this one out.
Last weekend, the Tigers were blasted by Peters Township. Just remember the gauntlet that the WPIAL schedule made for them.
I look for McKeesport to hit on a couple splash plays over 50 yards. I think I’m feeling a Kemon Spell return touchdown, too.
TJ will need to hit on some throws down the field from Luke Kosko.
This is another one of those coinflip games. I like the Tigers to get the job one.

Central Valley at Belle Vernon
I don’t see what the hype is about Central Valley so far this season. They did play TJ close, but the Jags aren’t what they were a few years back.
Belle Vernon shut down Aliquippa’s Tikey Hayes for the one quarter they played. Central Valley is going to struggle to run the ball against the Leopards’ linebacking corps.
Offensively, it’s about time for the Leopards to start showing more of their playbook. They may not be quite as explosive as last year, but there is still plenty of potential there.
Plus, there’s a beach party tonight at the Weir.

Monessen at Beth-Center
The Greyhounds need some competition. You don’t get anything out of blowouts.
Can they keep it up when the teams get better? We’ll see soon enough.

Clairton at Shady Side Academy
The Bears are back in business. They can throw the ball, they can run the ball and their defense pitched a shutout against a potent Serra Catholic offense last week.
Shady Side Academy will be a good test, but the Bears are just too athletic.

Carlynton at S.Allegheny Can the Gladiators start the season 3-0 for the first time in who knows how many seasons?
Yes they can. Yes they will. All you Carlynton fans should just calm down with your 2-0 start. You played Carrick and Avella.
It gets real tonight.

Good news for the Warriors, each of their first two games came down to one play.
They’re putting up a lot of points. Everything will be fine. That all starts tonight with the Wildcats.
The Warriors will roll and get back on track in preparation for next week’s home opener.

Charleroi at Bentworth Originally scheduled for The Pot, this game is moved to thehill in Ellsworth. Honestly, that could be the difference in this one.
It’s supposed to get nasty around game time, so the field could be sloppy. That benefits the Bearcats.
The Bearcats are 1-1 after beating Brownsville and dropping a close 11-6 decision to Burgettstown.
Charleroi was up early on Yough last week before allowing three touchdowns.
This one could be close, give me the home team.
