I was happy with the team effort, especially as we were playing with only 13 players.”
• Belle Vernon Area picked up a much-needed win in a Section 3-AA contest after losing its previous three. Belle Vernon Area coach John Kerekes said, “It was a very good game and we generated more shots than we had in all our other games so far. We had it clicking and our defense played well, especially Eric Resetar, who stepped into the starting lineup.” Jimmy Yantko, Dylan Pietrantoni and Jared Guess all scored for Belle Vernon Area while Sam Kovell recorded one save to earn his second shut-out of the season.
