Belle Vernon VFC to hold pizza/pizza burger sale
Auntie Anne’s Pretzels will be available in the lobby of Penn Highlands Mon Valley, 1163 Country Club Road, Carroll Township, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. Original and cinnamon pretzels, hot dogs, cake, beverages and more will be sold.

A pizza/pizza burger sale will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Belle Vernon Volunteer Fire Co. No. 2, 10 Main St., Belle Vernon. To place an advance order, call 724-929-5511. Debit/credit cards will be accepted.
Donora legion members to meet Friday
Ernest E. Jobes Post 212 American Legion, Donora, will meet at 7 p.m. Friday at the post, 513 Meldon Ave.
Monongahela Veterans Council to meet Friday
Members of the Monongahela Veterans Council will conduct a meeting at 7 p.m. Friday at VFW Post 1409, 793 E. Main St., Monongahela.
Discussion will be held on upcoming events and activities scheduled for the remainder of this year. All interested parties are welcome to attend.
Paws in the Park to be held Saturday in Monessen
Mon Valley Paws will hold its annual Paws in the Park event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Monessen City Park walking track, Grand Boulevard in Monessen.
Registration fee is $10 per pet. Gift bags will be given to the first 100 registrants.
Yoga in the Park will be held at 10:30 a.m. There will be a pet training demonstration at 11:15 p.m., a K-9 demonstration at 11:30 a.m., followed by a pet contest and a blessing of the animals at 1 p.m. There will be basket auctions, food trucks, kids zone, face painting, pet-related vendors, DJ Brother Jeep and Bullpen Dennis from 9:30 to11:30 a.m. and more.

St. Paul in McKeesport to host food pantries
Food pantries will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m. Saturday and Sept. 28 at St. Paul AME Church, 1350 Locust St., McKeesport. There are no income requirements to receive the free produce, dry foods and meats.
Indoor vendor show to be held at VFW Post 1409
An indoor vendor show and bake sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1409, 793 E. Main St., Monongahela.

Fill two bags for $5 book sale scheduled at West Newton library
The West Newton Public Library, 124 N. Water St., West Newton, will hold a fill two bags for $5 book sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in the library parking lot. The rain date is Oct. 5.

Charleroi K of C meets today
Charleroi Knights of Columbus Father William D. Fries Council 956 will hold its monthly council meeting 7 p.m. today (not Thursday) in the council hall of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish School, corner of Washington Avenue and Sixth Street in Charleroi. Recitation of the rosary will begin at 7:10 p.m. followed by the business meeting at 7:30 p.m.
Plans for the upcoming burger bash and for the Fifth Sunday Council Family Corporate Communion on Sept. 29 at St. Andrew the Apostle Parish will be finalized.
All Charleroi K of C officers and members are strongly urged to attend.
