Larry G. Coppi – Monongahela

Larry G. Coppi, 70, of Monongahela, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesd a y , Sept. 11, 2024. Larry was born on Dec. 1, 1953, in New Eagle, son of the late Amos (Adam) and Frances (Hann) Coppi. He is survived by a brother, Jeff Coppi of Centreville, Va.; two sisters, Amy Anthony of Monongahela and Kathy (Robert) Telegraphis of Monongahela; two nieces, Amanda (Adam) Thompson and Alaina Telegraphis; a nephew, Adam Telegraphis; and great-niece, Addie-Mae Thompson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Randy Anthony; and Heidi, his beloved dog. An excellent skilled carpenter, Larry was a graduate of Monongahela High School, Class of 1971. After high school graduation, Larry worked for his father’s business, Coppi Construction. Larry moved his upscale carpenter skills to Marietta, Ga., and established his own business. After returning to the Mon Valley to be closer to his beloved family, he worked for the Ringgold School District, retiring in 2022. Larry was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed his hunting trips to Benezette and Brockway, Pa. He loved working in his yard, planting his beautiful flowers and plants and watching the hummingbirds. His goldfish pond was his gem. Anyone who knew Larry knew that he enjoyed a good conversation and had so many stories to tell and he loved life, his family and many friends. The family would like to send their gratitude to Tri-Community Ambulance Service, Carroll Township Fire/Rescue Department and the Carroll Township Police Department for their excellent and dedicated service. Friends will be received at MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME, 216 Chess St., Monongahela, 724-2586767, from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15, at which time a service will be held by family friend and neighbor Father Doug Boyd. At the family’s request, Larry’s burial will be private and held at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Carroll Township. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Carroll Township V.F.D.
