MV Arts Festival to be held in West Mifflin
A free Food and Fellowship Luncheon will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon, 501 Fayette Ave, Rostraver Township. All are welcome. Takeouts will not be available until 12:30 p.m. Free-will offerings are accepted for the benefit of local food banks and the Presbyterian Hunger Fund.
Sambol’s Bakery to be at Penn Highlands Sept. 24
Sambol’s Bakery will be at Penn Highlands Mon Valley, 1163 Country Club Road, Carroll Township, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 24.
Baked goods, hoagies, sweet and hot sausage sandwiches, pretzels and candy will be sold.

Fall Festival to be held at Liberty Borough VFD
The Liberty Borough Volunteer Fire Department will present a Fall Festival, rain or shine, from 5 to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Steeltown will perform 7 p.m. Friday. Chain Reaction will take the stage 7 p.m. Saturday, followed by fireworks. There will be games, concessions, auction baskets, inflatable attractions, hayrides and more.
Admission is free. No outside food or beverages are permitted.
Sportsmen association to hold hunter-trapper class
The Rostraver Sportsmen and Conservation Association, 539 Cedar Creek Park, Rostraver Township, will sponsor a Pa. Hunter-Trapper education class at 8 a.m. Saturday.

The fifth annual West Mifflin Community Foundation Mon Valley Arts Festival will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the West Mifflin Area High School, 91 Commonwealth Ave., West Mifflin.
Local artisans will display their work and crafts. There will be beverages from local vendors.

LifeSpan to host car show in McKeesport
Mon Valley LifeSpan will host its ninth annual car show from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday in the Olympia Shopping Plaza, 4301 Walnut St., McKeesport. All cars and trucks are welcome.
Entry fee is $7. Preregistration is from 10 a.m. to noon. Trophies will be awarded at 3:15 p.m., raffles and drawing announced at 3:30 p.m., winners must be present.
There will be a DJ, food and drinks, dash plaques, a bake sale and raffles. Indoor, air-conditioned seating will be available.

‘Surviving the Holidays’ being offered by Grief Support Group
Grief Support Group-GriefShare will hold “Surviving the Holidays” from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Spirit Chapel at Swiss Alpine Village, 300 Swiss Way, Elizabeth.
The program is for those grieving a loved one. A book will be provided, and a discussion will follow.

North Belle Vernon VFD to sell hoagies on Saturday
The North Belle Vernon Volunteer Fire Department will once again offer its freshly made (by firefighters and their helpers) hoagies on Saturday at the Broad Avenue/Fayette Street traffic signal area by St. Sebastian Church starting at 10 a.m. until sellout. The firefighters wish to thank the public for their support in advance.
O’Neal, Kuzma to host shredding event at Ringgold Middle School
A free shredding event will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Ringgold Middle School, 2 Ram Drive, Monongahela. The event is being hosted by state Reps. Tim O’Neal, R-Washington and Andrew Kuzma, R-Elizabeth Township.
Acceptable items include all paper documents. No more than three brown paper grocery bags or open small cardboard boxes per household are permitted, and no businesses, please. Bags are preferred to boxes. In addition, no large binder clips or hardbound covers will be accepted. Materials more than 1-inch thick will need to be broken down.
To speed up the process, participants are asked to place all items for shredding in the trunks of their vehicles. Participants are asked to stay in their vehicles.

Monongahela library to hold story time/creative writing club
Story time is held from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Monongahela Area Library, 813 W. Main St. Join Ms. Carissa for a story and craft.
The Creative Writing Club will meet 3 p.m. Saturday. Those attending can help one another to develop writing plans, work past blocks and improve their craft. All skill levels and genres are welcome.
