Clyde F. Willebrand – Formerly of Donora
FORMERLY OF DONORA Clyde F. Willebrand, 94, formerly of Donora, passed away peacefully Friday, Nov. 1, 2024, with his family by his side. He was born on Sept. 2, 1930, in Monessen, son of the late J. Clyde Willebrand and the late Emelda Donegan Willebrand. He was a lifelong member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish (St. Charles Church). Clyde was retired from U.S. Steel Research, where he was employed as a metallurgical technician. He was a veteran, having served with the U.S. Army. He served on the Ringgold School Board for 18 years. He was a member of the Donora Elks, Catholic War Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates fan, regularly attending Grapefruit League games in Bradenton, Fla. Sundays often found him watching his other favorite team, the Steelers. He enjoyed golf with the Donora Elks League and loved a game of euchre, always looking for a foursome. He was greatly loved by his family and will always be remembered by his grandchildren for his famous one-liner “Pap-isms.” He will be sorely missed. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Mary Louise Gonzalez Willebrand, on Sept. 26, 2022. Surviving to cherish his memory are his children, C. Joseph Willebrand and his wife Donna of Washington, Pa., Amy Pascarella and Jerry Rizzardi of Confluence, and Becky Stewart of Monongahela; seven grandchildren, Jeffrey Willebrand, Brian (Megan) Willebrand, Neil Pascarella, Leah (Tyler) Frey, Connor Stewart, Grant Stewart and Jack Stewart (Lydia); and three greatgrandchildren, Molly Willebrand, Alison Willebrand and Wylie Frey. Prayers will be recited in the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 8, 2024, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian burial at St. Andrew the Apostle Parish Donora Campus.
