Monongahela budget calls for tax increase
The tentative spending plan was introduced by council during Wednesday’s meeting.
Monongahela property owners are likely to pay more in taxes next year, as the city’s preliminary budget for 2025 includes an uptick in the millage rate.
If the budget’s adopted by council, the millage rate will increase from 8.25 to 9.75. The preliminary budget includes $3.7 million in revenue and $3.69 million in expenditures, which amounts to a $2,650 surplus.
