McKeesport temporarily reimagines Fifth & Walnut

The area will have a new look for Saturday’s Salute to Santa Parade.

The corner of Fifth Avenue and Walnut Street in downtown McKeesport will look a little more colorful and lively this Saturday.

Dallas-based nonprofit Better Block is working with the city to temporarily transform the lot that was once home to Cox’s department, storefronts across the street and the Peoples building — an exercise intended to showcase downtown McKeesport’s potential.
