Charleroi Area increases substitute teacher pay rate

Superintendent Dr. Ed Zelich said the increase will put Charleroi above other neighboring districts.

Substitute teachers in the Charleroi Area School District will receive a higher pay in an effort to combat shortages.

The Charleroi Area School Board unanimously voted to up the pay rate for substitute teachers to $160 per day.
