Barry C. Jester – North Charleroi
Barry C. Jester, 85, of North Charleroi, left this world to be with the love of his life, Anna Louise, on Dec. 10, 2024. Barry was born on May 29, 1939, in Monessen, to the late Clifford and Mary Rulong Jester. Barry served his country and community honorably in the United States Marine Corps as a corporal from 1958 to 1964, United States Coast Guard Auxiliary as flotilla commander, a Charleroi Auxiliary Police officer, a member of the North Charleroi Lock No. 4 Volunteer Fire Department and a retired teacher of 28 years in Charleroi Area School District. He loved watching NASCAR, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Penguins. Barry loved travelling across the country by motorcycle with his beloved wife. Barry was a member of American Legion Post 22 and Legion Riders Post 22 Chaplin in Charleroi and a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association. He was also a member of Faith United Presbyterian Church in Washington. Surviving to cherish Barry’s memory are his son, Brad Anton (Trisha) Jester of Clintonville, Pa.; his grandchildren, Kyle Jester of Buffalo, N.Y., Colby Jester of Clintonville, Pa., and Logan Jester of McKeesport; his sister, Elsie Jester of Georgia; sister, Lois (Van) Johnson of New Jersey; brother, Harry (Alice) Jester of North Carolina; and sister, DiAnn (Bob) Ray of Maryland; along with numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Barry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Anna Louise Jester; his son, Brian Jester; and his brother, Bernard Jester. Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., at which time a funeral and military service will be held, on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2024, at HOGAN-MELENYZER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES INC., 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, PA 15022. Interment with military honors will be held at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Road, Bridgeville, PA 15017, at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2024.
