Norma Jean Greco Bordash – Perryopolis
Norma Jean Greco Bordash died peacefully on Dec. 11, 2024. She was born on July 20, 1930, in Belle Vernon, to Rose Basile and Frank Greco, who prec eded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George Bordash; and brother, Angelo Greco. Norma graduated in 1948 from Belle Vernon High School, where she was known for her gorgeous smile, pleasantness and energy. She had a strong work ethic and was employed by Valdiserri’s Bakery in her youth. She later worked at Linden Hall and the Perryopolis sewing factory. Norma met the love of her life, George Bordash, at a dance. They got married on Feb. 13, 1954. They moved to George’s hometown of Perryopolis in 1957. She was a homemaker, great cook and fabulous baker. She liked spending time at Linden Hall, shopping, and going to the Meadows and Wheeling racetracks. She also enjoyed traveling with George to many states and visiting her daughter and grandchildren in Erie. She became active in the Flower Club, Red Hat Society, Perryopolis Senior Center and Center on the Hill in Belle Vernon. She enjoyed reading, movies, crafts, singing, Rummikub, bingo and spending time with family, especially her great-grandchildren. She was a member of First Christian Church in Perryopolis. Norma is survived by her daughter, Andrea Smith (Robert); her grandchildren, Rosanna Smith (James Marshall) and Alyssa McClelland (Caleb); her great-grandchildren, Levi McClelland and Annemarie Marshall; an aunt, Anna Mae Basile; as well as nieces, nephews and many cousins. At Norma’s request, her burial will be private. BLAIR-LOWTHER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY in Perryopolis has been entrusted with her professional funeral arrangements.
