Elizabeth Irene Roush Snyder – Newell
Elizabeth Irene Roush Snyder, 91, of Newell, Pa., passed away Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2024, at AHN Jefferson Hospital sur rounded by her loving family. She was born Oct. 8, 1933, in Charleroi, daughter of John and Elizbeth Roush. Irene was a member of the Newell United Methodist Church and held various offices in the church and in the women’s society of the church. She is survived by her three sons, John M. Snyder and wife Susan of Newell, Steven W. Snyder of Newell, and James A. Snyder of Phoenixville, Pa.; three grandchildren: grandson, John Robert Snyder; granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth Snyder; grandson, Joshua Michael Snyder, all of Newell; three sisters, Barb (Jerry) Peters, Joann (Bruce) Smith and Debbie (John) Pilarsick. Also survived by his two faithful girls, Cali Ann and Sierra Sue. Irene is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 62 years John A. Snyder; sister, Mary Manown; and brother-in-law, Frank Manown. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 3, 2025, at ELEY/MCCRORY FUNERAL HOME INC., Fayette City, Pa., www.eleymccroryfuneralhome.com. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, 2025, in the funeral home with Pastor Jack Washabaugh officiating. Interment will follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery, Belle Vernon.
