Frances ‘Fran’ V. Rendulic
ROSTRAVER TOWNSHIP Frances “Fran” V. Rendulic, 92, of Rostraver Township, passed peacefully in her sleep o n Thurs day, Jan. 2, 2025, in AHN Jefferson Hospital sur rounded by her five surviving children. Born in McKeesport on Oct. 8, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Frances Fink Vodopivec. Fran was a woman dedicated to her family and church. Married for 37 years, she raised six children and served on various committees at the Church of St. Anne, including the bingo committee, Confraternity of Christian Mothers and the parish council. She also enjoyed working outside of the home when time permitted. Before marriage she worked in various positions at Montgomery Ward (her favorite being in the stock room) and as a lab assistant at Westinghouse. After the passing of her husband in 1991, she returned to work at Rostraver Public Library, first as an assistant
then as the director before retiring at the age of 84 in 2016. She was an avid reader of many different genres. She maintained a list of the library regulars and what new books she thought they would like. She was a proponent of lifelong education. While working at the library, she also earned her associate’s degree from Westmoreland County Community College. Her hobbies included bowling, sewing, knitting, crocheting, gardening, cooking and baking. Much of her work she entered in county fairs. She would proudly talk about her entries and the ribbons she won. She is survived by her sons, Frank Rendulic and Paul Rendulic; her daughters, Emma (Tom) Hopeck, Fran Rendulic and Lisa (Jeff) Kingsbury; grandchildren, Janice Rendulic, Frank Rendulic, Hillary (Dion) Sims, Daniel Rendulic, Dr. Paula (Dr. RJ Green) Hopeck, Thomas Hopeck, Maria (Robert Tracey) Hopeck and Faith Hopeck; and greatgrandchildren, Gianna Hopeck, Anthony Hopeck and Rosa Hopeck. Fran was eagerly awaiting the arrival of her fourth great-grandchild! In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank A. Rendulic Sr., whom she married in 1953; son, Louis Rendulic; daughter-in-law, Maxine Rendulic (wife of Frank); and brothers, William (Laurene) Vodopivec and Louis (Anne) Vodopivec. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at JAMES C. STUMP FUNERAL HOME INC., 580 Circle Drive, Rostraver Township, 724-929-7934, www.jamesstumpfuneralhome. com, where a blessing service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, followed by a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at Church of St. Anne with the Rev. Roselo Melloria presiding. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park Cemetery.
