• Tonight could be the night that record- breaking Monessen High junior Gina Naccarato adds another bit of history to her storied career. If she scores 28 points at home in a Section 4 AA-A contest against Frazier, she will become the 12th girls player to hit the 2,000-point mark and the youngest girl in the WPIAL to hit that goal. Naccarato, who is second in the WPIAL in scoring this season with an average of 30.2 points per game, scored 33 points in the Hounds’ previous meeting with Frazier.
• In a game that felt like a playoff match, Ringgold was nipped by Albert Gallatin, 6160, in a meeting of Section 2 Quad A powerhouses. Albert Gallatin’s Shantai Hall, who led the winners with 18 points, hit three of four free throws in overtime to seal the victory. Ringgold trailed, 61-57, when Missy Fitch hit a three-pointer with eight seconds on the clock. The Rams got the ball back, but a shot by Fitch at the buzzer bounced off the backboard.
