The Eagles outscored Nazareth Prep, 9-6, in overtime to claim a 6158 win at The Nest in McKeesport.
Owen Dumbroski led all scorers with a game-high 21 points for the Eagles (12-2). Teammate Tyler Sapida added 10 with Brayden Graham (9) and Sean Walker (8) combining for 17 more.
The home team led by 11 at the half before the Saints won the third quarter by a 19-10 margin to get back into the contest.
Will Evans led a trio of double- digit scorers for the Saints (104), finishing with a team-high 15 points. Mikey Keys had 14 points and Leon Harrison chipped in 12.
Serra Catholic will travel to Waynesburg Central Tuesday in a non-section game.
Elizabeth Forward 66, Southmoreland 30
In a matchup of top teams in 4A and 3A, the Warriors had little trouble in dispatching the Scotties in a non-section matchup.
Daniel Spence scored 16 points, Tyler Basic had 12 and James Gile added 10 to lead Elizabeth Forward (12-3), which held the Scotties (123) to only eight second-half points.
Southmoreland was led by Noah Felentzer’s 10 points.
The Warriors are back on the court Tuesday at home against East Allegheny for a section game.
South Fayette 68, Ringgold 50
Xavion Thomas scored a gamehigh 18 points for the Rams, and Demetri Lowe had 16, but their performances weren’t enough as the Lions picked up a Section 3-5A win at home.
Gavin Orosz had 14 points for South Fayette (11-4, 6-1) and Jake Levisuer added 11.
Ringgold is back in action Tuesday at home against Southmoreland in non-section play.
Greensburg CC 59, Frazier 35
The Commodores couldn’t find their offense as the Centurions (13-1, 7-0) rolled to a Section 1-2A win at DiVirgilio Field House Friday night.
Brady O’Rourke led the way for GCC with a game-high 15 points.
For the Commodores (3-12, 1-7), Brant Alekson finished with 14 points and 14 rebounds in the losing effort.
Frazier will travel to Riverview Tuesday.
Springdale 42, Clairton 38
The Bears (5-5, 5-2) were doomed by a two-point second quarter as the Dynamos (10-5, 4-4) held on for a Section 1-2A win at home.
Taris Wooding led Clairton with 10 points. Robby Simmen led all scorers with 16 points for Springdale.
The Bears travel to Greensburg Central Catholic Tuesday.
Bentworth 49, Riverview 21
The Bearcats got right back into the playoff hunt with a lopsided win over the visiting Raiders (6-8, 4-4) Friday.
Christopher Harper scored a game-high 20 points with teammate Ben Hays collecting 12 points for Bentworth (6-8, 3-5).
Ben Franciscus led Riverview with 7 points.
The Bearcats travel to Jeannette Tuesday.
The Jayhawks rolled to 56 points in the first half and hammered host California in a Section 1-2A matchup in Coal Center.
Four player hit double figures for the Jayhawks (12-1, 6-1), led by Marcus McGowan’s 28. Noah Sunder, Xavier Odorisio-Farrow and Jayce Powell each scored 12 points for the winners.
The Trojans (2-12, 0-8) were led by Jacob Ziolecki’s 18 points.
California will travel to Springdale Tuesday.
Greensburg Salem 53, Yough 29
Tyler Martin scored 18 points and Braedon Leatherman poured in 15 as the Golden Lions (3-9, 2-4) rolled over the Cougars (1-13, 0-5) in a Section 3-4A win.
No scoring information was reported for Yough.
The Cougars are back in action Tuesday at home against Belle Vernon.
Girls Elizabeth Forward 66, Southmoreland 17
The Warriors led 51-10 at the half on their way to a big rout of the Scotties to open up a boy-girl doubleheader Friday.
Michelle Jellison scored a gamehigh 23 points for Elizabeth Forward to lead all scorers.
Kaelynn Settles chipped in 12 points and McKenna Bittner added 11 for EF (10-3, 7-0).
The Scotties (3-12, 1-7), who were held scoreless in the third quarter, were led by Olivia Aumer’s 6 points.
The Warriors host Laurel Highlands 7 p.m. Monday.
Avella 69, Bentworth 39 Ava Frank dumped in a game-high 30 points and Sydney Strope added 24 for the Eagles (7-8) as they rolled over the Bearcats (6-8) in a non-section game.
Kayla O’Dell led Bentworth with a team-high 16 points.
The Bearcats host Burgettstown Tuesday.
