Epiphany Ladies
The Epiphany Ladies of Epiphany of Our Lord Church in Monessen met Jan. 12. President Sara Stein led the group in reciting the flag pledge and prayer before meals to open the meeting. Minutes of the previous meeting and correspondence, including donations received, were presented by Secretary Susan Campus and accepted. Treasurer Alice Pastella gave the financial report, and Chairman Jackie Elias, welfare committee, and Ruth Todd, scrapbook project, were recognized.

Ways and Means Chairman Betty Geis announced the schedule for pierogie making and will provide details of the Lenten fish fry at the next meeting.
Pat Godla, turkey bingo chairman, and Debbie Genemore, Catholic Daughters of the Americas regent, thanked everyone whose support helped to make both the bingo and the joint Christmas dinner very successful this year.
Kathy Byron, president of the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women, circulated copies of the DCCW magazine, highlighting upcoming diocesan events.
The Rev. Michael Thomas, parochial vicar and chaplain, added his thanks for the organization’s support of the many parish activities over the holidays and for the many Christmas greetings and gifts that he received. He also noted that with the appointment of a new parish administrator, plans and schedules are being explored and will be shared as they are finalized.
Cindy Pawelec announced that Night at the Races is scheduled for 6 p.m. March 1 in the church hall and shared details about the dinner and all the activities that are included in the $40 per ticket purchase. More details will be available at the next meeting.
Stein announced that “The Chosen-Season 3” will be shown at 6 p.m. Mondays in the church hall, beginning Monday. She also circulated volunteer sign-up sheets for the continuing “Taste and See” program at St Sebastian.
Flo Petrosky added that more volunteers are needed to be lectors and Eucharistic ministers at parish Masses and encouraged members to consider this opportunity.
Members with January birthdays, including Thomas, were recognized, and Kathy Imbrescia, Petrosky and the January committee were thanked for providing the luncheon. Half-the-take was awarded, and Sophia Janol and Ruth and Jamie Todd were recognized for providing the flowers for Mary’s Shrine.
Vice President Jamie Todd led the traditional three Hail Mary prayers to close the meeting.
Continuing to follow the winter schedule, the next monthly meeting will be held after the 10:30 a.m. Mass on Feb. 9 in the church hall.
