John Magiske – Rostraver
John Magiske, 93, of Rostraver, died Monday, Feb. 3, 2025. Born Sept. 30, 1931, in Elrama, Pa., he was the son of the late Ende and Mary Sub ecz Magiske. John graduated from Clairton High School and worked at a Clairton Chevrolet dealership where he met his beloved wife of over 60 years, the late Mary Louise Pecsi Magiske. John then became a successful insurance executive. He traveled the country and moved to several different cities during his career. When they retired, John and Mary Lou returned to Pennsylvania. He enjoyed traveling the world with Mary Lou, caring for the many pets that they rescued through the years, and hosting large family reunions. He was a devoted member of St. Anne’s Church in Rostraver. He is survived by many loving nieces and nephews, each with their own fond memories of their Uncle Johnny. He was both grateful and ornery and the family will not be the same without him. He is also survived by his tuxedo cat, Mya, who fiercely loved Uncle Johnny to the exclusion of all others. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers Andrew Magiske and Mike Magiske. Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at JAMES C. STUMP FUNERAL HOME INC., 580 Circle Drive, Rostraver Township, 724-929-7934, www.jamesstumpfuneralhome. com, where a blessing service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in the Church of St. Anne, 1870 Rostraver Road, Rostraver with the Rev. David J. Nazimek presiding. Interment will follow in St. Clare Cemetery, Clairton.
