Phillips to seek Washington County controller seat
Pat Phillips, a lifelong Washington County resident, announced his candidacy for Washington County controller in the May 20 primary election.
A Canonsburg resident, Phillips brings over 30 years of experience in banking, finance, regulatory compliance, and auditing, having worked for three Fortune 500 companies during his career, he stated in his campaign announcement.
He is also a graduate of Washington and Jefferson College.
Phillips said he is a “firm believer in business continuity, personal and team integrity, ethics, and the ability to work through inter- and intra-departmental issues and deficiencies.”
“Many county offices have seen improvements in recent years; this needs to continue throughout all the row offices. My goal is to ensure that these offices and levels keep moving in an upward direction,” he stated.
“I am announcing my candidacy for the office of Washington County Controller in this May’s Republican primary. I will uphold business ethics, provide a safe work environm ent, maintain moral standards, improve efficiencies, and promote open communication. My business background, proven communication skills and strong ethics will make this office run efficiently as we lead those involved with the controllership of Washington County by following business standards to provide accurate and sensible results.”
Phillips states his ability to work with others will help make Washington County a place where individuals and families are proud of the people they voted for.
“I promise that all offices will comply with the required standards and efficiently work within budgetary and compliance guidelines, all while keeping taxpayer’s bottom line salient.”
Phillips shared his vision with supporters during an announcement event held on Feb.1.
