William J. Melilli – Rostraver Township
William J. Melilli, 78, of Rostraver Township, died Monday, Feb. 17, 2025. Born in Pittsburgh on Jan. 15, 1947, he was the son of the late Felix Melilli and Frances Horback Melilli Vucich. Bill was an electrical engineer for Westinghouse Electric and retired in 1996 while continuing to work as a consultant for many years. He was a member of the Church of St. Anne in Rostraver Township, actively served as a eucharistic minister and usher and was also active in the Holy Name Society. He enjoyed horseback riding, camping and taking care of his antique cars. He especially loved his farm, where he spent most of his time. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Karen M. (Monz) Melilli; sons, William J. “BJ” Melilli Jr. (Christy Milburn) of Rostraver and Michael J. (Sarah) Melilli of California, Pa.; and granddaughter, Audrey Larue Melilli. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, John Vucich; and uncle, John Horback. Family and friends are asked to meet at Church of St. Anne, 1870 Rostraver Road, Rostraver Township, at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28, 2025, for a Memorial Mass with the Rev. Roselo Melloria and the Rev. Ronald Simboli concelebrating. Interment at Salem Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to JAMES C.
