Irene Diamonof Dzimiera – Monongahela
Irene Diamonof Dzimiera, 94, of Monongahela, passed away on Thursday March 13, 2025, sur rounded by her family in her home. She was born on May 29, 1930, in Cleveland, Ohio; the daughter of the late Charles and Harriet Holodnik Diamonof. A homemaker with a passion for gardening and cooking, Irene also enjoyed volunteering her time at St. Vincent de Paul Society in Monessen. She was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish in Monongahela, belonging to its Holy Name Society, Altar Rosary Christian Mothers Society and the Columbiettes. In 1954, they married after meeting her late husband John at a family wedding in Donora. They moved back to Monongahela and began raising a family of their own. She is survived by two sons, William Dzimiera and wife Dee and Pete Dzimiera, and a daughter, Kathleen Rupar and husband Radovan, all of Monongahela; two grandsons, Ryan Dzimiera and wife Bethany, and Wesley Dzimiera and wife Samantha; and a great-granddaughter, Adalynn Dzimiera. Irene was preceded in death by her husband, John S. Dzimiera, who died April 23, 2002; and a brother, Charles Diamonof and wife Joan. Friends will be received at MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME, 216 Chess St., Monongahela, 724-2586767, from 1:30 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 16, 2025. Prayers will begin in the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. Monday, followed by a Mass of Christian burial that will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Andrew the Apostle Parish, Monongahela.
