Douglas Keith Rossetti – West Newton
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Douglas Keith Rossetti, 67, of West Newton, on Friday, March 14, 2025. He was born April 18, 1957, son of Ronald T. Rossetti and the late Norma J. Albright Rosetti. Raised in McKeesport, where he was a starting football player, he later resided in West Newton. Doug was co-owner of R&R Auto Recycling in West Newton with his brother as partner. Born into a skiing family, he learned at a young age the thrill and solace of snow-covered mountains. His travels in competition skiing took him first to the University of Denver, to Italy and to Southern Vermont College in Bennington, Vt., where he led the ski team to the championship level. Doug also was a daring water skier, cutting sharp turns and sending up huge wake sprays at his family’s summer home at Deep Creek, Md. He also enjoyed the thrill of driving his business-sponsored stock car at Motordrome Speedway. Doug was past president of PA Auto, Truck and Salvage Association and a lifelong member of the Mon Valley Ski Club, where he chaired the annual kickoff dance at Seven Springs Resort. Surviving in addition to his father are his lifelong companion, Pamela Craig; brother, Mark Rossetti and wife Constance; nephew and nieces, Ryan Rossetti and wife Shalyce, Cara Rossetti, and Katy Zalac and fiancé John Bargiel; and great nephew and niece, Jack and Lucy Rossetti. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at J. WILLIAM MCCAULEY JR. FUNERAL HOME, 901 Vine St., West Newton, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Interment will follow in West Newton Cemetery. Condolences may be left at www. mccauleyfuneralhome.com.
