Patsy Lee Gilchrist – North Belle Vernon
Patsy Lee Gilchrist, 89, of North Belle Vernon, went to be with the Lord Sunday, March 16, 2025, in her home, sur rounded by her f ami ly. Daughter of the late Lawrence and Edith Robbins Weaver, she was born in Fairhope, Pa., on Nov. 15, 1935. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon, she was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Belle Vernon, where she was the financial secretary for many years. More recently, she became a member of Journey by Grace Free Methodist Church in Rostraver. In her early years, she had many jobs, including lifeguard, roller rink attendant, dental assistant and EMT. In her leisure time, she enjoyed cooking, baking, sudoku and watching game shows. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching just about any televised sporting event, especially the Olympic Games. Patsy lived a life of service and for most of her years she tirelessly focused her strength and efforts on her two greatest treasures, her faith and her family. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Craig and Vicki Gilchrist of Rostraver Township, and Brian and Jane Gilchrist of Belle Vernon; a daughter and son-inlaw, Cheryl and Dr. Michael Mendicino of Belle Vernon; eight grandchildren, Thomas (Laura) Gilchrist, Timothy Gilchrist, Michael Mendicino, Kelsey (Curtis) Young, Tyler Gilchrist, Taylor Gilchrist, Kaylee Gilchrist and Samantha (Joshua) Jenness; and five great-grandchildren, Ray Gilchrist, Rosie Gilchrist, D’Mareo Gilchrist, Clark Young and Sloane Young. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas A. Gilchrist; and her sister, Margaret (Peggy) Holesapple. There will be no public visitation or services.
