Virginia “Ginny” Marie Crea (Panepinto) – Cary, N.C.
Virginia “Ginny” Marie Crea (Panepinto), 84, of Cary, N.C., peacefully passed away March 8, 2025, at UNC Rex Hospital in Raleigh after a short illn ess. She was born July 1, 1940, in Monessen, to Anthony and Christina Panepinto. She graduated from Monessen High School, Class of ’58, and lived there most of her life. She worked as a legal secretary locally for her brother before heading to Pittsburgh to work with other law firms. After retirement, she moved to Belle Vernon to live with her mother. In 2007, she moved to North Carolina to live with her daughter. She enjoyed bowling, crocheting, sharing recipes and spending time with her family. She was known for her fiery spirit and larger-than-life personality. She had the remarkable ability to strike up a conversation with anyone, leaving lasting impressions with her warmth and smile. Christmas was her favorite time of year, when she would bake countless cookies with her family for everyone, a sweet symbol of her love and generosity. She was a true matriarch. She cherished her family above all else and was deeply rooted in tradition, always finding ways to get loved ones together. Survivors include a son, George Crea (Tara) of Stonington, Conn.; a daughter, Gina Kicinski (Bill) of Cary, N.C.; a sister, Toni Semich of Belle Vernon; a granddaughter, Annaka Kicinski; a niece, Kristen Semich; and three nephews, Nick Semich, Anthony Panepinto and John Panepinto. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Crea; parents; and brother, Salvatore Panepinto. Arrangements will be handled by BROWN-WYNNE FUNERAL HOME. A celebration of life will be held in Pennsylvania and Hilton Head Island at a later date.
