The Warriors (1-1) committed five errors in the field and starting pitcher Julia Johnson allowed 15 hits as the Lions came away with an 11-5 win.
The game was 7-5 heading into the seventh inning before the Lions put a four spot on the board to grasp control.
After spotting the Lions a 2-0 lead after the top of the first, the Warriors bounced back with a run in the bottom half of the inning as Julia Resnik came in to score after a bunt by Berlyn Holibaugh.
Inspiration Academy (7-3) increased their lead to 4-1 in the top of the second when Avery Bouquin hit a two-run inside-the-park home run.
Addy Nigut smacked a two-run double with the bases-loaded to make it 4-3 after two.
The Lions added single runs in each of the next three innings to take a 7-3 lead into the bottom of the sixth.
EF made it 7-5 on Holibaugh’s sacrifice fly that scored Resnik.
In the top of the seventh, the Lions got a run on a wild pitch before Alexis McInerney stepped in with the bases loaded and ripped a 1-1 pitch for a triple to right for the game’s final runs.
Bouquin, McInerney and Aubrey Osborne each finished with three hits to lead the Lions. McInerney finished her day with four RBIs.
Resnik singled and doubled for the Warriors with Holibaugh and Nigut driving in a pair of runs.
St. Anthony’s 4, Eliz. Forward 3 The Friars scored a pair of runs in the first and second innings and held off the Warriors, who dropped the second game of a Thursday doubleheader.
Julia Resnik took the loss in the circle for the Warriors (1-2). She allowed four runs (two earned) on six hits and walked three in four innings.
Alivia Grimm drove in all three of the Warriors’ runs.
Makayla Martinez and Emily Polarolo each had a pair of hits for the Friars (2-0).
South Park 10, Serra Catholic 0 The Eagles in blue needed only six innings to dispatch the McKeesport-based Eagles.
South Park’s Grace Kempton and Emma Hays had days to remember. Hays crushed two homers and drove in four runs for the winners. Kempton had three hits of her own with two doubles and a homer of her own. She finished with four RBIs.
Sydney Sekely got the win, combining with Reese Katich to throw a no-hitter. The pair combined for 12 strikeouts.
Serra’s Kelly Morrissey got beat up in the loss, allowing 12 hits, 10 runs (8 earned) with seven strikeouts.
Serra Catholic will host West Mifflin Monday for a non-section contest.

Submitted Jefferson Cty. (Tenn.) 6, Bentworth 5 After a perfect three innings, Sydney Gonglik was lifted from the cycle and Jefferson County (Tenn.) took advantage and was able to come back from a 4-0 deficit.
Nora Lindley handled the offense for the Bearcats (1-1). She doubled, had two singles and finished with a game-high three RBIs.
Gonglik and Sofia Gaussa each finished with two hits for the Bearcats.
Zoe Vanhouse got the win for the Patriots going the distance in the circle. She allowed 11 hits, five runs (three earned) with a strikeout.
Trailing 5-3 in the bottom of the seventh, the Patriots (7-5) got the winning run after an error on the infield for the Bearcats.
Willow Eckels took the loss for Bentworth after allowing six runs, three earned, five hits and five walks in 3 2/3 innings.
Baseball Frazier 11, Southmoreland 1
The Commodores are off to a 2-0 start after pounding the visiting Scotties in Perryopolis Thursday.
Brant Alekson scattered seven hits and struck out seven in a complete game on the mound to get the win.
Offensively, Chase Fulmer finished with four hits and three RBIs for Frazier.
Dailan McManus (3) and Noah Bachinski (2) combined for five hits and two RBIs for the winners.
Bredon Geho and Blake McLaughlin each had two hits for the Scotties (1-1). Geho took the loss after allowing six runs, three earned, in three innings.
The Commodores host Mapletown today at 4:30 p.m.
Carlynton 8, McKeesport 7
Mason Mulligan’s RBI infield single scored the game-winning run for the Cougars as they stunned the Tigers with a five-run bottom of the seventh inning.
McKeesport led 7-0 after 3 1/2 innings, but watched their lead evaporate in the final frame.
Chase Barno took the loss for the Tigers, allowing six earned runs on three hits through 1 2/3 innings.
Isaac Anker had a pair of hits and a game-high four RBIs for Carlynton (2-1).
Matt Miller singled and doubled, and Caulan Smith had a pair of hits for McKeesport (0-2).
Miller drove in a pair of runs with Mason Michaels, Mason Gergely and Brian Jones each adding RBIs for the Tigers.
McKeesport is back in action Monday at home for its section opener against Woodland Hills.
California 7, Carmichaels 7
The Mikes (0-1-1) posted a run in the top of the 7th inning to pull even and end the non-section game at Malden Yards in a tie.
The Trojans (0-1-1) were led by Caden Monticelli and Parker Gillen, both finishing with two hits and two RBIs.
Eli Carpenter added a double for California. Dillon Fisher had a pair of doubles with an RBI and Ryder Krieg drove in a pair for the Mikes.
Cal is home Tuesday against South Park in a non-section contest.
Uniontown 8, Monessen 7
The Greyhounds battled back to tie the game at seven in the top of the sixth inning, but the Red Raiders (1-3) were able to plate the game-winning score in the bottom of the inning and send the Hounds to their third straight loss to start the season.
RJ DiEugenio was a bright spot for Monessen (03). He had three hits, including a pair of doubles, and drove in two runs for the Greyhounds.
Gio DeStefano doubled and had two RBIs. Jakob Dell drove in two runs for the Greyhounds.
Chandler Myers got the win on the mound for Uniontown, throwing 1 2/3 innings of hitless relief.
Brayden Hinzy and Caleb Bartok each had two hits. Hinzy drove in two runs.
Monessen is back on the field Monday at home to open section play against Serra Catholic.
McDonogh 8, South Allegheny 6 The Gladiators dropped a close game to Mc-Donogh (Md.) at the Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach Thursday.
Dillon Pomocki and Josh Nesky combined to drive in all five Gladiator runs. Both players had a home run with Nesky driving in three runs.
Max Jeffcoat got the loss scattering eight hits through six innings. He allowed eight runs, five earned with three strikeouts.
The Gladiators resume play today in Myrtle against Maryland’s Severn School.
