Matt Musial had two hits, including a homer, and three RBIs to lead the offense for Baldwin.
The Titans were led by Caden Wills, who had three hits and three RBIs. Derek Tudek and James Moneck each drove in runs for West Mifflin (4-3).
Chase Maggio took the loss after an inning on the mound. He allowed two hits and a run with two walks.
The Titans will host Yough Monday in a non-section contest.
McGuffey 2, California 0
The combination of Reno Presto and Brogan Meighen shut down the Trojans’ offense, allowing only three hits in a shutout win at EQT Park Thursday.
Sam Stout had two hits for McGuffey (2-2) as Presto and Lincoln Johnson drove in runs.
Weston Monticelli went the distance in the loss for the Trojans (0-3). He allowed two runs, one earned, on six hits over six innings.
Presto got the win for the Highlanders, striking out eight over four innings.
The Trojans host Burgettstown Monday to open Section 1-2A play.
Belle Vernon 12, Uniontown 0 (6)
The Leopards picked up a series sweep over the Red Raiders with a six-inning win at Bailey Field Thursday.
Cole Matusik enjoyed a big day at the plate with a triple, home run and pair of RBIs. Lucas Judy ended up with three hits with a double for the Leopards (30, 2-0).
Judy was just as dominant on the mound, tossing a one-hitter with 12 strikeouts to get the win.
Zach Plymire had two hits and two RBIs and Chace Petrosky and Parker Lind added doubles for BVA.
Caleb Bartok got the loss for the Red Raiders (1-3, 0-2) after throwing four innings and allowing six earned runs.
The Leopards are back on the field today at home against South Park.
Washington 19, Monessen 3 The Prexies picked up their first win of the season, knocking off the Greyhounds (0-6) at Memorial Stadium.
Isaac Charnik got the win on the mound, striking out eight and allowing only two hits over five innings. He added a pair of doubles, a single and three RBIs at the plate.
Zander Henderson, Fernando Lozano, Austin Chaney, Tyler Bainer and William Callan each had two hits for Wash High (1-5).
Jayden Hagan finished with a double and three RBIs for the Prexies.
Monessen is back in section play Monday at home against Bishop Canevin.
Waynesburg Central 17, Bentworth 10
The Raiders took the lead with an eight-run bottom of the sixth inning to remain unbeaten on the season with a win over the visiting Bearcats (1-2).
Austin Surber homered and singled, finishing with three RBIs in the win. Ethan Kiger had a pair of hits with a double and four RBIs.
CJ Corwin got the win after throwing four innings of relief and allowing only one run and three hits for the Raiders (6-0).
David Miller took the loss on the hill for Bentworth after being tagged with seven runs, all earned, on four hits in 1 2/3 innings.
The Bearcats jump back into section play Monday on the road at Fort Cherry.
Carmichaels 13, Frazier 8 After winning four straight to start the season, the Commodores dropped their second in a row with a home loss to the Mikes Thursday.
Robbie Wilson-Jones and Jordan Davis each had three hits and combined for four RBIs to lead the Carmichaels (3-1) offense.
Brant Alekson took the loss for the Commodores (4-2) after allowing 10 runs, only two earned, on 10 hits in 4 2/3 innings.
Ty Morrison had three hits and Dailan McManus and Aidan Hardy each had two base knocks for Frazier. Morrison added three RBIs.
Frazier is idle until Thursday when they play at Charleroi in a non-section contest.
Eliz. Forward 17, Yough 11
The Warriors (3-1) won a slugfest on Cougar Mountain thanks to 16 hits.
Eight players with two hits each accounted for the offense for Elizabeth Forward. Charlie Nigut, Daniel Spence, JB Crovak, AJ Grese, Cy Herchelroath, Luke Ruskay, Aiden Grimes and Mitchell Vuick each had two hits. Herchelroath, Grimes and Crovak each doubled with Vuick adding a triple. Grimes had a teamhigh four RBIs.
Nate Grimm got the win after throwing five innings of relief. He allowed four runs on four hits and struck out six.
Johnny Steban took the loss for Yough (0-3). Jake Williams, Sammy Smalich, Gabe Shakoske and Ethan Yuvan each had two hits for the Cougars.
Yough travels to West Mifflin Monday with Elizabeth Forward continuing section play at Laurel Highlands Monday.
Woodland Hills 12, McKeesport 2 (5)
Aaron Concepcion homered, singled and drove in a pair of runs to lead the Wolverines (2-1) over the Tigers (0-5) in a non-section contest at All-American Park.
Joe Young tripled and pitched his team to the win allowing six hits, two runs and striking out three in five innings.
Matt Miller got the loss for the Tigers after lasting three innings. He gave up eight runs, five earned, on seven hits.
DeVaughn Early Hayden joined Concepcion with two hits for Woodland Hills.
The Tigers host Gateway Monday to open Section 4-5A play.
Eden Christian 13, Clairton 1
The Warriors swept the season series from the winless Bears (0-5, 0-2) with a win in Clairton Thursday.
Jacob Janicki had a pair of hits, including a homer, and drove in four runs to lead Eden Christian (5-0, 2-0). Noah Emswiler added a double and three RBIs.
Adonte Wiggins had a double and single for Clairton.
Kyle Fowler got the win after throwing 1 1/3 innings and striking out three.
Jae Walker got the loss. Clairton doesn’t play again until April 14 when they host Serra Catholic.
Softball Carmichaels 15, Monessen 1
Bailey Barnyak mowed down 12 Greyhound batters and added a pair of doubles and two RBIs as the Mikes hammered the visitors in Carmichaels.
Ali Jacobs went 4 for 4 with two doubles, four runs scored and four RBIs for the Mikes. Teammate Kaitlyn Waggett had a pair hits, including a double.
Grace Clingenpeel was the bright spot for Monessen (0-2). She had the only two hits for the Hounds, including a solo home run.
Ashton Batis added two hits and three RBIs for the Mikes (2-0).
The Greyhounds will look to rebound Friday when they travel to California.
Sewickley Academy 4, Serra Catholic 1
Charlotte Andrews tossed a dominating complete game as the Panthers opened their season with a win over the Eagles (0-3).
Andrews allowed only two hits and an unearned run with 15 strikeouts for Sewickley Academy (1-0).
Marie Bigi had two hits and Gabby Edmunds drove in a run for the Panthers.
Kelly Morrissey struck out 10 batters over four innings in the loss for the Eagles.
Serra Catholic is back in action today on the road at Bishop Canevin.
