Eunice M. Abel Daugherty – Finleyville
Eunice M. Abel Daugherty, 100, of Finleyville, passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2025, at the Presbyterian Senior Care, Wood side Place in Washington. She was born Feb. 9, 1925, celebrating her 100th birthday! She was the daughter of the late Willis T. and Elva M. Rankin Abel. Eunice was a member of Finleyville Presbyterian Church. After graduating from Monongahela High School, she continued her education at Robert Morris, earning her business degree. Besides being a loving homemaker to her family, she helped her husband Wilbur with their family business, the Finleyville, Library and Smithfield pharmacies, until selling the three stores and returning to a full-time homemaker. She loved the outdoors and was a wonderful gardener and bridge player in her younger years. She was also a member of the Gleaners Club and the P.B.W.A. She is survived by a son Harold C. (Karen Kabay) Daugherty of Monongahela; a daughter, Kathy L. (Vandy) Sanchez of Tampa, Fla.; a brother, Willis R. (Betty) Abel of Finleyville; three grandchildren, Dene W. Daugherty (fiancée, Isabel Chou), Deric M. (Brooke) and Lynn-Ann (Rob) Belluso; five great-grandchildren, Max and Mia Daugherty and Emily, Alex and Anthony Belluso; and nephews and nieces, Larry (Michelle) Abel, Willis G. (Joyce) Abel, Debra (Joseph) Lisanti, Arlene Ramos and Cathy Caughey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur A. Daugherty, who passed away March 2, 2005; a sister, Mildred Leasha; and two nephews, Dennis Gondella and Daniel Lee Abel. Family and friends will be received at MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME, 216 Chess St., Monongahela, 724-258-6767, from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, April 7, 2025, at which time services will begin with Pastor Jude Urso officiating.
