To the Editor:
As I daily read about and view Donald Trump’s absurd statements and shenanigans, I am reminded of the following idiom — “(He) Donald Trump is a few fries short of a Happy Meal.” So appropriate since he is a great fan of McDonald’s. Considered by his self-proclaimed accolades, he is the greatest president who ever lived. Contrary to the opinions of many.
All signs are pointing to the ruination of our democratic form of government — the form that Donald Trump is working quite quickly and extensively to eliminate. Everyday as he “drops another bomb” by signing another executive order, we move further along on the road to ruin. Laws were made to be broken as he has readily demonstrated. Did the Republicans and Democrats who considered him the answer to making America great again, not see the warning signs like convicted felon, greed-driven liar, retaliatory, conniving and a narcissist? Aren’t judges’ rulings to be followed? Congress was created for a reason. Trump has chosen to execute the other two branches of our government. All three branches have their own power and responsibilities.
I see little indication of a positive change ahead as Trump’s fervent attempt continues to downsize the government to his liking or as suggested by non-governmental Elon Musk. Republicans are in the majority and view Trump as “sent from up above.” Democrats are in the minority and show weak leadership in their ranks.
Will an interception ultimately void the reduction in agencies, workers, etc? Or will Donald Trump achieve his outlandish goals?
