Dennis R. “Punt” Daumit, 81, of Rostraver Township, passed away in his home on Monday, April 7, 2025. Born in Rostraver Township on Nov. 27, 1943, he was the son of the late George J. and Goldie Sprowls Daumit. Punt loved to fish, hunt and go to the casino. He was a former member of the Speers Boat Club, the Mon Valley Ski Club, the Rostraver Sportsmen, and for many years he played in the Mon Valley SLO-pitch softball league. Dennis R. “Punt” Daumit, 81, of Rostraver Township, passed away in his home on Monday, April 7, 2025. Born in Rostraver Township on Nov. 27, 1943, he was the son of the late George J. and Goldie Sprowls Daumit. Punt loved to fish, hunt and go to the casino. He was a former member of the Speers Boat Club, the Mon Valley Ski Club, the Rostraver Sportsmen, and for many years he played in the Mon Valley SLO-pitch softball league. He was employed as a meat cutter for the S&Y Supermarkets for many years. He retired from the Rostraver Township Road Department as an equipment operator. He is survived by his wife, Martha Rodebaugh Daumit; sister, Patricia (Ray) Hoffman; brothers, James Daumit and Thomas (Patti) Daumit; sisters-in-law, Barbara Rodebaugh, Saundra Brown and Jeannie Rodebaugh; as well as many nieces and nephews. We would like to give a special thank you to his nephew, Bill, his wife Laura, and their son, Dalton Daumit, for all the care and love they showed their uncle. Also thank you to Jason and Heather Rodebaugh, Michelle and Aman Singh and John and Chelsea Pickens for their support and love. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his inlaws, the Rev. Howard and Edna Rodebaugh; a sister-inlaw, Karane Daumit; a brother- in- law, James Rodebaugh; a niece, Denise Pickens; and a nephew, Jim Brown Jr. As per Punt’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or service.
