John Robert ‘Robbie’ Lindey – Miami Beach, Fla.
John Robert “Robbie” Lindey, 70, of Miami Beach, Fla., a devoted husband, father, and grandpa (“Pap”), passed away peace fully on Tuesday, March 4, 2025. Born on June 20, 1954, in North Charleroi, he was the son of the late Janice Coldren Young and John Lewis Lindey. A house painter by trade, John took great pride in his work, earning the loyalty of longterm customers who valued his dedication to quality and reliability. John and his beloved wife, Diane Lindey, shared 45 memorable and loving years together, raising their family and doing all the things they loved together. A dedicated family man, he raised two daughters, Shalee Aller of Parkland, Fla., and Amy Baker of Los Angeles, Calif. John was a pushover “Pap” to his three grandsons, Jake Aller, Kyle Aller and Vincent Montoya. A perfect day for John started at the crack of dawn, heading to the Swap Shop early to snag the best deals, spending time with family and taking some poles out to the lake with his grandsons in search of “the big one.” John was a kind man, definitely had a silly side, and would do anything to help someone. He will be deeply missed by those fortunate enough to have had him in their lives. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother, William B. Lindey of Belle Vernon. He is survived by his wife, Diane Lindey; his daughters, Shalee Aller and Amy Baker; his son-in-law, Chris Aller; his grandsons, Jake Aller, Kyle Aller and Vincent Montoya; his sisters, Terry Falco of Miami, Fla., and Gretchen Weibl of Belle Vernon, Pa.; and his brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Eileen Lindey of Dunlevy, and Eric and Laura Dziubek-Lindey of Drums, Pa. A celebration of life will be held in July, where family and friends will gather to share memories and stories— just the way John would have wanted.
